County Clerk Vehicle License Plates & Titles Lost vehicle titles can be replaced on the spot. All that is needed is the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), or the tag number of the last time the vehicle was registered in Tennessee. Replacement cost: $10.50 New tag and title, $24.00 + $10.50=$34.50. New titles must be approved by Nashville. Titles are issued anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks.
